Pageant interviews may in fact be the most competitive aspect of the pageant process. Interviews are conducted for local beauty pageants, but hundreds of girls will be interviewed and only a handful will be selected to participate. Local pageant interviews however, are the foundation for state, national and international competitions.
The “Little Miss America Pageant” was the first beauty pageant held for children and was held in New Jersey in 1961.
