Do Not Stress Over Pageant Interviews!

Would you believe it if I told you that nearly 100,000 beauty pageant contestants who compete each year in America are under the age of 12? If you or your daughter wishes to pursue the wide world of competitive pageantry, a pageant interview is often the first step to take. The last step will hopefully be to accept the first place award on stage!

Pageant interviews may in fact be the most competitive aspect of the pageant process. Interviews are conducted for local beauty pageants, but hundreds of girls will be interviewed and only a handful will be selected to participate. Local pageant interviews however, are the foundation for state, national and international competitions.

The “Little Miss America Pageant” was the first beauty pageant held for children and was held in New Jersey in 1961. Since then, millions of little girls have found themselves faced with pageant interviews. If your daughter is considering pageantry, it is recommended that you hire a pageant coach who can help prepare her with pageant tips and tricks.

International pageants involve hundreds, possibly even thousands, of local competitions. They serve as the model by which local competitions are structured. Once a series of pageant interviews are completed, contests are usually judged on beauty, physical fitness, poise, public speaking skill, wardrobe, and community service.

Pageant interviews are just the first hurdle that you and your daughter will have to get over before any pageant success can come. If you have any pertinent experience, tips, tricks or questions, leave them in the comments box below!
